Alexa Michelle Design, founded in 2022, is an interior design and decorating company serving clients all across Middle Tennessee. Dreamt up and brought to life by two Nashville natives, AMD is the product of the personal values and entrepreneurial ambitions of childhood friends and proud "girl moms", Lailah Street and Lisa Sprouse. Our co-founders' determination to put their work and energy into things that make a positive difference - creating comfortable, relaxing, pleasant, and beautiful spaces to bring happiness to others - is what fuels the passion that exists within our business.
AMD works on an array of different interior projects ranging from tile, paint, lighting, floor, etc. selections and consulting for new construction and home renovation projects, full home or single room redecorating, seasonal home decorating and special event styling, all the way to e-design - fulfilling any of your interior design needs. With 8+ years of design experience combined with 10+ years of senior executive management, operations, and marketing experience, Alexa Michelle brings an optimal blend of creativity, personal touches, efficiency, resourcefulness, and professionalism to every project. From concept to installation, our team can handle every aspect of your interior design project.
With years of experience in the design and decor industry, Alexa Michelle Design co-founder/owner, Lailah Street, is AMD’s Principal Designer. Born and raised in Tennessee, Lailah’s background includes time spent with Restoration Hardware, starting and running her own local boutique shop - Honey Hole Market, which led to her breaking into home and event design services. It wasn’t long before Honey Hole Market’s adorable local storefront was replaced by Honey Hole Design Co.
During these years leading up to the birth of Alexa Michelle Design, Lailah has coordinated and created astonishing atmospheres for many weddings, hosted and operated several local market events for small businesses, and transformed countless homes and spaces in the Greater Nashville area with her design and styling offerings - each satisfied client referring to the next. Without any marketing, Lailah found herself with a thriving design business. Eager to take her God-given talents to the next level, Lailah joined forces with her childhood friend, Lisa Sprouse, in 2022… Enter Alexa Michelle Design.
When she isn’t completely occupied being a brilliant designer for our clients, Lailah can likely be found at a cheer competition or Liberty Creek High School football game cheering for her daughter in the stands, hanging out in the backyard with her husband and their twin boys, or fulfilling her guilty pleasure of binge-watching true crime on Investigation Discovery.
Lisa Sprouse, Nashville-native co-founder/owner of Alexa Michelle Design, serves as Chief Operating Officer. Before creating AMD, Lisa worked for a national parking company many locals know as Premier Parking. Starting as an accountant in 2013, Lisa worked her way to the top at Premier, holding positions such as General Manager, Vice President of Marketing, and Chief Marketing Officer. She was the first female executive in the company, and ultimately became a Partner and was a minority owner until the company sold in 2022. Post-merger, Lisa found herself itching for the next thing - to be able to do something that better served her personal values and family goals.
As a longtime friend, and client of Lailah’s back in 2020, Lisa was impressed with Lailah’s talent and resourcefulness within her trade. Lisa’s willingness to take a leap of faith combined with her excitement about the opportunity to grow a small local business into a well-oiled machine and ability to propel a company to its potential made her an ideal business partner for Lailah. Soon later, Alexa Michelle Design was launched.
In the rare times that Lisa is not thinking about how to make design services and operations run faster, smoother, and better than it did the day before, you might catch her driving her daughter to and fro (a proud personal Uber… I mean, mom), picking up her favorite salsa from Cinco de Mayo, lovin’ on her three pups, or forcing her military husband to watch either Big Brother or a true crime documentary.
